PROFESSIONAL &
TECHNICAL SUMMARY
· 100%
Hands-On – seriously, I love to get in the middle of issues and be a part “of
the fix”. I’m NOT a sit-at-the-desk manager. I am really good at
dealing with the managerial side of the business, and at the same time fixing
things while nobody notices.
· I’m
really great at being the “right fit” for those situations that require
someone with more experience, more customer support and more patience.
Many times I find myself getting involved in things I think I know nothing
about, but after a few minutes I fully understand the complexity, brevity and
necessity of what’s being discussed. That kind of environment thrills
me!
· Now,
the boring stuff -
o
Strategic Planning and Implementation
o
Proposals and Contract Negotiation, Customer and Vendor Management
(not my favorite thing to do but I’m good at it.)
o
WAN Optimization, Storage Architecture and Analysis
o
Virtualization Technologies (SCVMM, VCenter, EC/AWS, Azure….)
o
Oracle ERP Implementations & migrations
o
Wireless, Mobile, MDM solutions. Android/Apple
o
Cisco, Juniper Networks, Citrix, Fortinet, Enterprise Wireless, Aruba,
Dell/HP/IBM/Clone Servers, EMC, Network Appliance, Equalogic,
Citrix
o
Project Analysis and Management, which includes having to really be a
jerk when necessary.
o
Disaster Recovery and Backup Strategies (Veeam, PHDVirtual, Axcient,
VSS, AppAssure, Cloud solutions, etc.)
o
IT Security and Network Controls, NAC/NAP, IDS/IPS/Anti-Malware
Remediation. It’s a mind-set, not a technique so much.
o
Cloud Solutions and Initiatives, Network Technologies and Trends,
Global Networking Initiatives, and understanding the complexities of what a
global company has to deal with to get business & engineering flowing
efficiently.
o
Cisco CCNP, CCNA, Microsoft MCSE, and Novell CNE (that one…probably
expired in 1998 I think!)
o
RAT/RDP agents & tools (Kaseya, ManageEngine, etc.)
o
Completed extensive technical, management
and vendor product training while in the US Air Force and concurrent with
post-service commercial employment
